I was thinking about making a new header for myself, of all the female characters I really love to bits. Then I realised the horrifying truth.

There's three of them. Shadowcat, Ace, & Starbuck. This is just embarrassing. All they seem to have in common is that they like explosions & hitting people. I don't know what that says about me... actually I know exactly what that says about me, but never mind.

You would think there would be some from Buffy or Firefly, but no, apparently I don't identify with Joss' women enough. Maybe Zoe. Maybe. I like his male characters just fine. It's strange, because Joss is usually held up as being one of the best at writing women.

But you know what? I wouldn't swap those three for any male character anywhere.

One of the reasons I don't like a lot of female charaters is that they are so often very very poorly written, cast, acted, or concieved of. I like women, I just don't like women who act like men think women act, if you know what I mean.

Ace ftw, not enough Ace in the world. I also like girls who blow crap up.

When I was six, I wanted to be Ace when I grew up. Then I forgot all about it & wondered where the hell my blowing shit up phase came from when I was sixteen!
