Today I found a spider at work in the back room. Not just any spider, though. We have these locally (warning: what do you think you're going to see when you click that link). I personally don't have a problem with spiders. This was way too good a chance to pass up, though. I gently picked it up with a jumper. And put it on my boss's work area :)

The screaming was funny.

Have you been watching tv? I have been watching ALL THE TV this year it is great. Once Upon a Time and Terra Nova make me so fucking happy you have no idea. Also Person of Interest (Ben! Back on my telly!), the much-improved Boardwalk Empire and Grimm, which I am mostly watching to see Seymour from Burn Notice play Wolf from the 10th Kingdom.

In the past couple of weeks I have broken my printer, my phone, my bag and some muscles in my leg. Fortunately I fixed everything bar the phone (shiny new phooooooooooooooone!)

I would watch the fuck out of this spin-off. Also the frat boys on the wall one, and a Varys/Littlefinger road trip.

I have been spending too much time reading various texts from last night, especially the A-Team and X-Men ones. But why are all the ones that apply to me Magneto ones?



I was deeply fucking amused by how every time in the movie when Magneto got a little crazier, the Irish accent got a little more noticeable. Seriously, by the last scene it was 'Wheeeeeeee let's kill everything! Ciarrai abu!'

I always said I wasn't going to read it until it was done. But here I am after watching a couple of eps of the show, reading the damn thing.

This shit is actually pretty great so far. Who knew? Tell me what/who you like and don't like, people who read it, please.

Totally not the kind of show I normally watch, but I really liked it. Some points of note:

I'm actually from Kerry originally, and I spent the first few episodes listening to one character and going "...is that a Kerry accent? She sounds like she's from Kerry :DDDDDD" There's this whole varying pitch thing that I've never heard anywhere else in the world, and she's got it down perfect. A bit like uptalkers, except in our case it's allovertheplace talkers. YOU HAVE NO IDEA HOW MUCH THIS PLEASES ME. She just needs to drop her Y's a bit.

There is this one character who is a disfigured assassin who wears a mask and cannot connect with people until he starts to share pop culture references with them. I know what comics the writers have been reading and I approve.

Al Capone: prankster, is wonderful to watch and I hope he doesn't grow up too much.

Then there's the federal agent who spends the entire season very slowly losing it. This isn't funny (oh, who am I kidding, the bit where he drowns his partner by pretending to baptise him is fucking gold) until you realise he is actually being trolled by God.

I actually started reading Thor recently, just to see what the craic was. It's good! Of course, I don't actually give a damn about Thor in the slightest, but I love everyone else, especially Loki and Volstagg.

I spent the weekend in Derbyshire with a bunch of runners. I used to say runners were all lightweights. They are only MOSTLY lightweights. Sometimes they are sneaky and get everyone else drunk and make them spill who they have crushes on and then say they can do something about that and ARGH. Also, Derbyshire is MADE OF MUD. PAST MY ANKLES. I seriously had to use the powerwasher to clean my trainers.

Go here about 8:30 in. This is genuinely what happens when you go shopping with an Irish person. Apart from the fist fight. Unless you're out with my Aunt Bess, then all bets are off.

This is also the Irish government vs the EU.

I'm back from Ireland! And I want to go home again :( My cousins the osteo-archaeologist and the guy doing a PHD in bone regeneration using stem cells made me watch Bones. And then the_wanlorn made me watch more. ALL I EVER WANTED WAS A SHOW ABOUT MULDER!SCULLY AND SCULLY!MULDER FROM BAD BLOOD. THANK YOU WORLD. Except Zack is my favourite and I have been made aware of why this is a bad idea :(

I have been rewatching G vs E, a show which probably no one but me remembers. I still love it rly hard. Except I watched the one where the get trapped in the falling elevator and then GUESS WHERE I GOT STUCK TODAY?

Also my hometown is having their race week and it's on TV. My tiny town is on the telly! I can see the church! And the factory! And the cattle mart! And... yeah, that's it. Just over two weeks and I will be there :DDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD

Just watched one of my favourite costume dramas (look, I don't care if it has dinosaurs; the Lost World totally counts as a costume drama) and I'd gone long enough without watching the adaptation that I'd completely forgotten they pretended to kill off my favourite character. He was fine at the end but >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>:(

Thing about Sherlock that will be of no interest to anyone but myself and possibly buzzylittleb: That's not Baker Street, that's the very top of Gower Street. I can see my uni and my old halls of residence on all the exterior shots!

I am sure I don't have to tell you how awesome the A-Team was. Because it was the most awesome. I am rethinking my position on Jurassic Park being the greatest movie of all time. Also: kinkmeme.

And in non-Lost news, the window I was sitting next to burst in the heat yesterday. I didn't even know that could happen! Apparently it was the temperature change of 15C in a week that did it, rather than the actual temperature.

My father has gone and told everyone that I'm playing in Wembley tomorrow. I mean, I am playing in Wembley, but not in Wembley, you know?

OH GOD I AM SO EXCITED FOR THE A-TEAM. IT IS RIDICULOUS. BUT LOOK AT THEM! LOOK!

The Losers is everything sohotrightnow said it would be and more. Like, her recs are always decent but OMG THAT FILM IS AMAZING.

ETA: AND NOW DAVID CAMERON IS PRIME MINISTER THIS IS THE WORST MOOD WHIPLASH EVER WHAT THE FUCK WHAT THE FUCK.

My entire enjoyment of media has been shaped by watching the A-Team and Jaws as a toddler. Everything.

I decided to watch District 9 earlier (mainly because I got myself excited over the A-Team film already and I wanted to see if Murdock was any good). This was a bad idea. I occasionally have eczema on my fingertips and today it is particularly bad. So I was watching the film, absent-mindedly picking bits of skin off my fingers, then he started picking bits of skin off his fingers.

Then there were claws. DNW claws!

I am finally watching the rest of BSG! I got horribly annoyed when they killed Starbuck and stopped. Someone please tell me why I am shipping Roslin/Baltar?

WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK DID I JUST WATCH? Apart from the best ep ever, obviously.

I have this one really really competitive friend. She is perfectly nice! Until it's me vs her and then it is like some kind of deathmatch. We used to play hurling on a team together and caused each other more injuries than I ever got from all the teams we played put together. Even the really dirty ones. Up until this weekend, I had never played against her in a proper match. Then we brought more players than they did and they had to borrow a couple, including me for the second half.

And then I ran rings around her and it was so, so satisfying. Even the bit where she threatened to headbutt me if I scored and sulked when I did. And I maybe sort of broke her finger a bit.

Oh, also! To kill time before our team meeting earlier, my friend who just started working at a locksmith's told me all about how to crack cheap safes. It was awesome.
