I love Tyrion, Arya, Bran, Jon Snow, Samwell (you haven't met him yet), Brienne (or her), the Blackfish (or him), Dany, and Margaery and her grandmother (you haven't met them yet either, probably). I like Sansa and the Hound somewhat more in the later books. I liked Cersei in the first couple books, but really disliked [spoilers] more recently. I've grown somewhat fond of Jaime in the latest book, as though there is only so much affection and dislike to go around with the twins.

There's a lot of skeevy stuff throughout the books, but I love the politics and mostly-out-of-sight-but-still-creepy-zombies too much to ever stop reading. :(

Which ones do you hate? I am pretty meh about most characters I don't love. The only ones I am >:(!!!!!!!!! about have to do with later stuff, which is why I didn't write that part out.

Cat and Ned are basically my favorites ever. She is so competent and he is so incompetent and grumpy and they both respect each other so much; they are basically the prototype of my OTP (plus the whole "arranged marriage where love eventually develops" trope is SUCH a button of mine when it's done well, UGHHHH I CAN'T EVEN). My roommate read it and was like "yeah, within a few chapters of them interacting I was not at all shocked that they were your favorites". There's a part where she basically just tells him not to worry his pretty little head b/c she'll do the thinking for both of them *_____*

The kids didn't do much for me at first but once shit started happening and they had plot-related stuff to do I liked them all a lot better. Also oh my fucking God I hate Jon so much. I hated him slightly less when shit got real and he had plot-related stuff to do, but I still hated him.

The thing with Jon is yes, he's totally a dick sometimes, but people call him on it and he actually changes his behaviour, and that's a massive narrative kink of mine.

This is true! I did like that quite a bit. TBF I pretty much never care much about dude characters at all, especially when they're as full of angst as he is. Mostly I just want more of all the ladies, plus Ned being a grumpy and hating his life and trying REALLY REALLY HARD and failing horribly, because when I do care about dudes they generally have arcs involving women I love at least as much if not more, and &NED/CAT;

(My roommate, inlovewithnight, says I need to write her Ned/Cat bookverse PWP, after I started talking about how you know their favorite bedroom game is, like, black brother taken prisoner by sexy wildling queen.)
