The last two series I got into both ended their most successful season with my second favourite character running my favourite character through with a sword. And I would totally swap the survivors :(

Oh, & the best season of Buffy did it too, but neither of them were my favourites. Seriously, you can't watch TV nowadays without swords getting plunged into guts every five minutes it's so cool!
