Can I have some brain bleach please?

I managed to talk the boyfriend out of seeing Apocalypto (hey, I'm not giving Mel Gibson any money), so we watched a dvd instead. It was Requiem for a Dream. I think this may have been some kind of revenge.

So I spent all of last night curled up in a ball crying, how 'bout you guys? I believe squicky films are meant to set off triggers, not give you triggers! The Ring is on this week, so I told him he had to watch it. Because it's not scary at all, is it?

Apocalypto is terrible (we downloaded it). There's one moment of emotional resonance in three hours--the two actors probably snuck it in when director Mel wasn't looking--but otherwise it's just clunky frat-boy 'humor' and repetitive snuff porn.

Now I'm trying to imagine what kind of humour could have been included! At least in Passion, there was some stuff about Jesus being a nice person (technically I didn't pay to see that either, the Vatican did!)
