Neighbourhood weirdness.

We've got an alleyway at the back of our house that contains our garages (the road is arranged in a ring, so the garages back onto the owners houses). It is commonly believed to be haunted. Neighbour A is re-doing the concrete is front of his garage. He has the hardcore down (big rocks & bits of paving slabs) but he's stopped until he can get some cheap concrete mix, probably off my dad. Over the last few weeks we've been noticing the level of the hardcore slowly dropping.

Neighbour B, on the other hand, is building a new driveway in front of his house, & the level of his hardcore is slowly rising. I especially noted this when I saw him going down the alleyway with an empty wheelbarrow. Neighbour B is a very nice man who is a good friend of neighbour A, & obviously thinks the load of rocks has been dumped in front of the poor man's garage!

Conclusion: I am surrounded by idiots.

P.S. done a small friends cut, mostly people I'm fairly convinced don't read my journal.

That is fantastic! The best I've ever lived by has just been some meth labs and some rough looking transvestite hookers, oh, and once a serial killer.

Serial killers are cool! We haven't got any of those. A notorious armed robber comes from the estate a few roads away, though. A surprising number of my old teachers live near me, which is sort of horrifying. Actually neighbour A's wife was one of them!

LMAO, I figured I'd be the only person who would ever say that! Not that I'm like a serial killer fangirl who sends them mail in prison or anything, but they're so fascinating.

We had a mass murder next door!

Seriously? What were they like?

Actually I was just talking about it in the comments (http://jamimegan.livejournal.com/80370.html?thread=422130#t422130) of one of my journal entries last month.

Basically these two violent, angry goth (and I mention that because it was zeroed in on by the media...and because they used a Highlander sword in the murders) teenage boys decided to kill their friend, just to see what it felt like. She was the eldest daughter of the neighbors', and they strangled her in the park by my house. Then they realized her parents and younger sister knew whom she was out with, so they went to her house and murdered them with aforementioned sword and a bat. They weren't found for several days. There's more detail in the link, but it was really gruesome, and unheard of for where I live. It took ages for anyone to buy the house.

Wow. That's crazy.

I found it immeasurably creepy, myself, but then I am convinced that at any moment a crazed murdering fiend is going to come tearing out of my laundry alcove and proceed to eat my liver and turn my excess body fat into soap while I am forced to watch. That might just be because it's finals and I'm displacing my anxiety, of course.

It's better than worrying over finals!

I think.
