When I was six the supply teacher told me that the devil hid in shadows in the corners of rooms (the joys of a Catholic education). I didn't sleep for about a week. I tried to persuade my parents of the merits of igloos. I never went into a room again without checking it out.

I didn't think this episode of Doctor Who was scary. When I was watching it. I laughed at everyone when the monster was so obviously under the bed, especially Sarah Jane, who screamed, & Rob, who has only ever jumped higher watching Firefly.

Then I tried to go to bed tonight. I switched off the light & thought 'but what if its under my bed? Worse, what if its in the corner? What if its been there for ages & I just didn't notice?'

Then my fridge started dripping. Drip drip drip.

Aargh! Sleep doesn't look so appealing now. Christ, I thought the Cybermen were going to be bad.
