There's this documentary on about kids TV & my mum told me this story.

Once, when I was little, my dad came home from work early while I was watching Blue Peter. They were showing how to make a palm tree out of paper, rolling it up & ripping bits off. Dad was just sitting there giving the TV a death glare until the presenter finally plonked it down & went 'look! A palm tree!' to which dad replied 'do they think we're fucking stupid or something?'

Dad doesn't really get kids. Mum is still giggling & occasionally going 'palm tree!' under her breath,

Was that the documentary where they got a group of kids to sit down and watch programmes from different eras! I wanted to slap those kids for being such precocious little ingrates!!!
